Orange Street – Drive Carefully For Our Shake!

Rock Street Journal (RSJ) is a hard rock magazine that has been popular in the college circuit for years. Now, they’ve set up a music label to popularise the indigenous bands even more. The idea is to finance a band’s studio album, which they give out free (on cassette) with their magazine. It’s a very laudable idea no doubt. On the consumer side though, it isn’t quite as exciting. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Michael Brook

Two relatively unknown albums in the much storied and prolific career of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan; both released by the illustrious world music label “Real World”. These set the gold standard for fusion music beyond the regular Qawaali and Classical styles of Nusrat along with touching fine nuances of his singing that by and large go unnoticed in his regular Qawaali setup. Must haves for the aficionados of high grade polished singing.
